Volunteers Working On Food Rebuild

We love showing off the great efforts of the Habitat for Humanity volunteers who are continuing their hard work on behalf of flood impacted families. While many folks are quickly moving toward recovery, others are struggling to catch up. Habitat for Humanity is working in the Minot community to ensure that all flood impacted families will soon be home again.

Here are some pics of our September 15th, 2012 work day. Thanks to everyone who showed up to battle the bees, while sweating to help their neighbors in need. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat for Humanities success and we are grateful for your support.

Volunteers Working for Flood Recovery

8 Sep. 2012: Volunteers spent a beautiful Saturday morning helping a flood impacted homeowner take the first step toward restoring her home by constructing a storage shed. The shed is a simple first step that provides a small amount of storage during the home build that Habitat is beginning at 517 2nd Ave NW in Minot

The homeowner was very grateful to all who volunteered and provided lunch and drinks for the workers. Our next volunteer work day will be Saturday, Sept 15th at 9:30am when we will begin construction of the foundation for the new home.

Our immediate goals are to build the foundation, exterior walls, roof, and to install the windows and exterior doors. This will enable us to start the furnace and complete the interior work during the winter.

As we are starting late in the building season, we hope to complete some work on week days, provided volunteers are available. If you are a shift worker and are available during the day, please email us at minot.habitat@ hotmail.com and let us know you wish to participate.

Please remember, you do not need any special skills to volunteer, we have skilled supervisors on site to guide you during the work. All you need is a heart for helping your neighbors in need - and we ask that you bring a hammer, if you have one.
